Terms of service

Last updated 18 September 2026. These are the terms for using biqib AI School at app.biqib.com, and they include the fair use rules below. How we handle information is in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

These terms are written in plain words and have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. They say what we actually do. If anything here is unclear, ask before you sign up.

What biqib AI School is

A study platform for students in Sri Lanka from Grade 1 to Grade 13. It gives a student lessons and practice built from their grade's course material, an AI tutor that answers questions, marking of photographed handwritten work, daily tasks, and a record of progress. Content is kept apart by grade, and by stream for A/L.

Who may use it

Students, and the parents or guardians who look after their accounts. A child below Grade 8 does not create an account: a parent or guardian creates it and signs in for them, and may hand it over from Grade 6 as the privacy policy describes. From Grade 8 a student signs up with their own email. By creating an account for a child, the guardian agrees to these terms on the child's behalf and to the way the child's work is handled, including being sent to AI services as the privacy policy explains.

One person, one account, with true details. A grade, stream and language are chosen because they decide which material a student is allowed to see; giving a false one to reach other material is not allowed, and an account found doing it may be closed.

The AI can be wrong

The tutor, the marking, the lessons and the past-paper analysis are produced by AI models. They are usually helpful and sometimes wrong: a mark may be unfair, an explanation may contain a mistake, and the past-paper analysis describes what earlier papers examined most, never what the next one will ask. Use them as a study aid alongside a teacher and the textbook, not instead of them. We are not responsible for an exam result, a grade at school, or a decision made on the strength of what the AI said.

Packages and payment

The tutor, marking and daily tasks need an active package. A package covers a fixed number of subjects and a fixed amount of AI teaching time per day, for a fixed period, at the price shown when you ask for it. Today payment is by bank transfer: you ask for a package from the Subscription page, pay, and an administrator enables it once the payment is confirmed. There is no automatic renewal; a package simply ends on its date and can be asked for again.

When a package ends, nothing is deleted. The account becomes dormant: the student keeps their history and can read it, and the AI features wait for a new package. If we made a mistake with a package — the wrong one, the wrong dates — tell us and we will put it right. Ask before paying if you are unsure of anything; refunds are handled case by case and are not promised.

A student may swap a subject for another within a package a limited number of times per grade, and may move to a higher grade themselves; moving to a lower grade needs an administrator. Either change ends the current subject choices and keeps the old work as a record.

Fair use of the AI

Every answer, mark and lesson costs us money, so a package comes with a fair share rather than an endless one. The fair use rules are these, and they are the whole of what we mean by fair use:

A daily amount of AI teaching time, shown on the Subscription page and set by the package. Tutor answers, marking and generated lessons draw on it. When the day's share is used up, the tutor says so kindly and everything that does not need AI keeps working: lessons already made, practice, marking already done, notes and progress. The share returns the next day, and no student is ever charged extra without asking.

The subjects the package covers, and the student's own grade and language. A package for four subjects teaches four.

One student per account. An account is for the child it was made for. Sharing a sign-in with a class, a sibling or a tuition group is not fair use: it takes the share of the child who paid for it, and we may close an account used that way after telling the account holder.

A person, not a program. Do not send questions with a script or a tool, do not copy the material out in bulk, and do not use the app to build another service. What a student reads, writes and photographs themselves is always fine.

If a student needs more than the fair share because they genuinely study that much, write to us. We would rather give a hard-working child more room than have them stop; and if we ever have to change these limits, the page changes with them and account holders are told by email first.

Acceptable use

Do not share an account or a sign-in link. Do not try to reach material for another grade or stream, to read another student's work, or to interfere with the service. Do not use the tutor to produce anything harmful, and do not upload anything that is not your own schoolwork or that you do not have the right to upload. The tutor is built to refuse what is off-topic for a child, and repeated attempts to get around that may close the account.

Whose content it is

The textbooks, syllabuses, past papers and teacher guides belong to their publishers and to the authorities that issue them; we use them to teach the students they were written for. The lessons and questions the platform generates from them are ours to run the service with. A student's own work — answers, notes, questions — is the student's. We use it only to teach that student and to mark and record their progress, and we do not sell or publish it.

Availability

This is a small service run on a single server. It may be slow or unavailable at times, particularly overnight, and AI providers we rely on have outages of their own. We do our best, and we do not promise a level of availability. If the service is down for a large part of a paid period, tell us and we will extend the package.

Closing an account

You can stop using the service at any time. You can ask us to erase an account and everything in it, as the privacy policy describes. We may close an account that breaks these terms, after telling the account holder why, except where the behaviour is a risk to other students, in which case we may act first and explain afterwards. An account that simply lapses is never deleted by us; the work stays the student's.

Changes to these terms

When the service changes in a way that changes these terms, this page changes and the date at the top moves. For a change that affects what you pay for or what is done with a student's work, we will also tell account holders by email before it applies.

Law

The service is operated from Sri Lanka and these terms are governed by the law of Sri Lanka. Nothing here takes away a right you have under that law that cannot be given up by agreement.
