What your child actually does

Each evening biqib gives your child a short plan: a lesson or two from the subjects they study, in the language they study in, with questions along the way. A lesson is built from their own textbook, chapter by chapter, and it is read aloud if they would rather listen. When they are stuck they ask the AI tutor, in their own words, and it explains that part again as many times as they need.

They can photograph a page of written work and get it back marked, question by question, with a note on anything worth another look. Before a term test there are model papers in the style of the real one.

About thirty to forty minutes is an ordinary evening. Nothing has to be finished in one sitting, and nothing is lost if they stop.

What you can see, and decide

A parent is not left guessing what happened this week.

The account can be yours

For a child below Grade 8 you hold the account and sign in for them. From Grade 6 you can hand it over, and keep an eye on it until Grade 8.

What was studied, and how it went

Topics done, marks from practice and marked work, time spent, and which subject is behind for the term.

The subjects and the pace

You choose the package and its subjects, how long a day is, and which days are rest days. A subject can be swapped a few times a grade.

Nothing is deleted when a package ends

The account rests: the history stays and can be read, and the AI features wait for a new package.

What it cannot do

It is a study aid, not a teacher's replacement and not a guarantee. The AI is usually helpful and sometimes wrong: a mark can be unfair and an explanation can contain a mistake, so a child should keep asking their teacher too. It never predicts an exam paper - what it shows is what earlier papers examined most.

And it teaches from the textbook. Where a book has not been added for a subject yet, biqib says so plainly instead of making something up.

Where your child's work goes

To answer a question and to mark a page, what your child writes or photographs is sent to AI services run by other companies, outside Sri Lanka. Some of them are free services, and a free service may keep what it receives. There is no way to use the tutor or the marking without this, so we say it here rather than in a footnote.

What we never send is who your child is: no name, no school, no email, not even an internal number. What we cannot filter is what a child writes themselves, which is why the app asks them not to put personal details in a question or on a photographed page. The privacy policy says all of it in full.

Keeping your child safe

You agree before any of your child's work is sent to the AI, the tutor refuses attempts to misuse it, and it helps with homework without doing it. Our child-safety page sets out all of it, and how to tell us about a concern.

What parents ask us

What does it cost?

A package covers a set number of subjects and a daily amount of teaching time, for a fixed period. Every package on sale, with today's price, is on the Packages & prices page. Payment today is by bank transfer, and a package never renews by itself.

Which grades and languages?

Grade 1 to A/L, in Sinhala, Tamil or English medium, following the national syllabus for each grade. A child studies in one medium, the one they study in at school.

Does my child need their own phone?

No. It works in a browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer, and a young child uses it through your account, on your device. Marking needs a camera to photograph the page.

Can I stop, or ask for everything to be removed?

Yes, at any time, and you can ask us to erase the account and everything in it. Write to info@biqib.com and we answer every message ourselves.
